The 2055 has a long history of the screen going out. There are some threads on how to fix it or you need to take it to RS and have them send it in.

It's the ribbon cable from the main boards to the front display board. There are threads, but in my experience some of it may be inadequate. Cutting the cable on the main board and then reseating only worked on one of mine. The other one had the ribbon cable inside the front display board, where it physically connects to the screen, improperly seated. I could have trimmed and reseated all day long and never fixed it with the threads that exist. You can take an ohmmeter and check the connections yourself to see if any are poor. that's how I figured out what was wrong.
