Pro-97 speaker

I've had a Pro-97 for a few years and it's been reliable except for the speaker. Usually if I turn it up even to a moderate setting the speaker seems to be distorting or vibrating excessively in the casing. If I hold the case tightly, the distortion subsides, for the most part. Am I looking at a bad speaker assembly or is it something else.

Try tightening the screws on the case?

or put some 2 sided tape inside, i wish there were audio controls on those for bass and treble
