Default Pro-106 Parts List & keypad problem

Does anyone have a parts list for the Pro-106 which they can send the link for or post? I've searched Radio Shack's site, here, and the web in general without success.

The scroll-left button on my keypad tore free from the outer ring and now has fallen out entirely. Between that and the printing on the keys wearing off after less than one year's use, I'm not very happy with the keypad, and I do almost all my programming via Win500! I'm much happier with the durability of my Pro-96's keypad.

Thanks,

Jim

Less than 1 year old??, it is still under warranty. Take it back & RS will fix it for free.

I'll give that a shot but frankly expect them to claim extraordinary use or abuse which invalidates the warranty. If that's the stance they take I was going to just order the (hopefully) inexpensive part and do the repair myself rather than spend too much effort arguing.

My Pro-106 will be a year old this month and I haven't had any issues what so ever with the lettering wearing off the keypad (and I use the scanner literally every day). I would definitely try and go the warranty route and see if they will straighten things out for you.

If I wore the lettering off and and had a key top ripped off in less than a year, I would be looking for a case to put the radio in.

When I get to the store on Sunday, I will look up the part number for the keypad and let you know how much.

As stated by others, you could also take advantage of the 1 year warranty. The repair center will also make sure the radio is tuned up to specs.

Part number 12469052 is for the KEY TOP. Cost is $13.89 pluss shipping and it is in Stock. Any Radio Shack can order the part and have it sent the location of your choice.

Stop in your local store and they can order it through the POS system. You could also call 1-800-843-7422.

How would one go about replacing the keypad once I got it?

That's why it's best to send it in??.. read comment s( recent) by hoser147 & other users RS repair is VERY good now a days about 2 weeks in most cases. I f I paid lot of $$ for a product, I would take it to some1 that knows the product & gladly pay $$ to get it done right & with a guaranteee,
Do as KSC5EIB ( Doug) says.. Take to RS & let em handle it. and it being under warranty that would be the smartest & most reasonable & simple thing to do
