Question RadioShack PRO-197 tone decode time

I was wondering if anyone had a RadioShack PRO-197 and had the PL tone decode mode set. If so how fast does it take the scanner to decode the tone and open up to monitor? I know the BC895XLT took about 1-2 seconds to decode the PL then open up. I was wondering if this was close to immediate just as if I would have, for example, an HT1250 monitoring specific frequencies.

This is also put out there for any of the other scanner types like the GRE's as well as any other scanner that does the CTCSS/PL decoding

All current generation Uniden scanners decode within milliseconds. I think the 895 was the last Uniden model that had that lag.

There is a slight difference in tone recognition between PL and DPL. A friend of mine who works for a shop that handles primarily Motorola, said that the PL reaction time is quicker, because the DPL is more involved in sophistication than a "simple" tone.. This holds true with all radios, no matter what brand or model.
