I can here the transmissions clear on the open 800 channels, but I am not hearing anything on the talk groups. Help ? Oh I am hearing the control channel tones on one freq.
I have followed the manual till I can't see and still can't get it

Cool

Thanks Paul !

I tried putting each site in a seperate bank, however that did not work. I am only hearing the control channel noise on one channel which is site 03 and freq 01 855.7375. I can hear the transmissions loud and clear when not in trunking mode, but I am not getting anything on the talk groupd in trunking mode. Also have been given a different set of what appears to be re-banded freqs, but have not heard anything on them at all.

They can NOT be in the same bank because they MUST be in the exact channels as shown in the RR database.

Try this for Site 001. Put it in Bank 1. Note that the freqs. in CH. 5 & CH. 6 are NOT in numerical order.
CH. 1 856.2125
CH. 2 857.2125
CH. 3 858.2125
CH. 4 859.2125
CH. 5 860.2125
CH. 6 859.7625
CH. 7 860.7625
CH. 8 866.8125
CH. 9 867.0625
CH. 10 867.3125

If system has been rebanded use these:
CH. 8 851.8125
CH. 9 852.0625
CH. 10 852.3125

Those are the inputs which correspond to the repeater channels that DickH posted above. You'll want to program and scan the repeater channels, not the inputs.

Cool Morgan County,AL 800 Edacs System

Thanks Jim,

No wonder, the inputs, the tech didn't tell me that. I had a time when I first got my Pro 433 just getting the Motorola 800 System programmed. This Edacs system ( my first ) is giving me alot more problems.

Also, the Alabama database needs to be updated. I'm in Oregon, so it's not up to me.
This is at the top of the Morgan County freqs.

The FCC, recently approved a new site for the area to the east-northeast of Falkville, under callsign: WQIZ346. The frequencies are:
1. 866.5625
2. 866.7875
3. 867.8875
4. 868.1125
5. 868.2000

Those freqs. have been rebanded and WQIZ346 has expired. The new freqs. are under the callsign WQKW734, effective Oct. 8, 2009.
1. 851.5625
2. 851.7875
3. 852.8875
4. 853.1125
5. 853.2000
The PRO-433 can not track #5, 853.2000, so you will have trouble with that site. All the other freqs. in that system are OK.

What leads you to that conclusion? 853.2000 is a valid 12.5 kHz step frequency that the 433 will have no trouble accepting.

Because the Pro-433 is not reband supported and without a firmware update cannot reach frequencies beginning with 851, 852, or 853 and having a "0" (zero) in the fourth decimal place.

Those frequencies can be scanned as conventional frequencies but not as trunked frequencies.

This is an EDACS system being discussed here, not a Motorola system. Rebanding support/custom channel plans apply only to Motorola systems, and have no influence on EDACS or LTR systems, as they do not use FCC channel #'s, they rely on the actual frequencies and the corresponding LCN #'s. If the 433 will accept 853.2000 as a valid conventional frequency (which it will), then it will have no trouble trunk tracking it as a valid EDACS or LTR LCN.

This is an EDACS system, so there should be no problem with the Pro-433 and rebanding.

I learn something every day on this Web site. I should have never posted, but having gone through a statewide reband when I saw that frequency, that was the first thing that came to my mind. There is a saying, "It's best to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Thanks for straightening me out. Nuff said.

I disagree! Your post was not foolish in the least. I've followed your threads on the Utah system, because much of the work you've done unraveling this rebanding business benefits everyone in some fashion, not just in Utah. Your post here seemed like a natural , almost reflexive, response to the rebanding issue based on your work with the Motorola systems. You could've easily missed that we were discussing an EDACS system, in which case no harm, no foul. Or you could've not known that the rebanding process affects EDACS and LTR systems in a much less impactful way than a Motorola system does, for the reasons I stated in my previous post, in which case you learned something new. Maybe others read this thread and learn from it as well. Nothing foolish about that.

You two are much too forgiving, but I certainly appreciate it. Yeah, it was a knee-jerk answer and I never considered that EDACS was any different than Motorola when it came to rebanding. There are no EDACS systems in my state and that should have been my first clue.

So now I'm a day smarter and I guess I burned up my only pass!

Yup, too much Motorola on my mind. That's all we have here in the Portland area.
