is there a way to decode the serial number to be able to tell when the scanner was made ??

my serial number is 002061

any help would be great

Date code is inside battery compartment. A sticker at the top.
My ser no. is 009709
Date code is 07A09.... which is July 09

I don't see a serial NO, my my date tag suggests my P97 was made in February 2007.
