Hey all, just in need of some advice. I am trying to program a radioshack pro 433 scanner for trunk mode. I can in put the frequencies however the scanner won't accept the frequencies for the trunk, it steps them up 12.5 mhz. So when I put in 858.6625 it will only accept 858.675. I can get them all input but then the scanner will not pick up the id's in my scan lists... any way to change the input so it won't step the frequencies up?

Soryy to inform you, but the 433 does not support rebanded frequencies.

The step size is 12.5 KHZ, not m12.5 MHZ, but that has nothing to do with your problem.

Larry is not correct. 858.6625 and every freq. in the 854 to 861 range is available in your PRO-433. Rebanding does NOT affect those freqs. It only affects 851 to 854.

There must be some other problem. Make sure it is set to E2-800 per the trunking setup instructions on page 24.

I had an issue with the Pro-164; that was exactly the same...

The US (FCC) has different step-sizes then Canada (CRTC/IC) - your RS scanner is "correcting" the entered values to the closest "legal" step, according to the US spec's.

I couldn't find a work around for the 164; and traded it for a 106.

It sounds like the scanner isn't liking a 'splinter' system. Normal 800 Systems use 868.6375, etc, while 'splinter' systems (normally near the borders) use the even 25 KHz slots, between them, like 868.625

Not too sure what to say, thank you for all the help and advice. I even did a limit search with the pro 433 scanner and my pro 106 scanner. My scanner finds the right frequencies but the pro 433 doesn't. Mine will find the frequency 858.6625 but the pro 433 will find 858.675, I've made sure I am in E2-800 as per page 24 of the manual but it doesn't seem to help....

It definitely should allow you to enter those freqs. Here are the specifications from the PRO-433 Service Manual. Try re-setting the memory, page 38.

Pro-433

I am going to try to program my scanner and was wondering if anyone has a suggestions on a good software to use. I have only found a few for the Pro-433, I am really not doing so well with manualy programming it! The frequencies and talk groups and all are available for my area on the net (Huntsville, AL) Any help would be great, or if someone already has the file (Database) for this area and it works with the software I will be buying, that would be great! Thanks
