Default im looking to buy a new scanner

well im looking to buy a new scanner i have the bearcat 80xlt 50 channel (peace of crap) and (my baby) radio shack pro 94 im seeing some good scanners at radio shack web site the pro 97 the pro 95 and more... overall whats the best to get and in my city we have motorola type 2 trunking please help

at RS I wouldn't get anything less than the 96 or 2096.
Uniden I would consider the 246t or the 396t.

Hello,

In addition to the BC246T and BCD396T, You should also look at the BR330T, especially if you are interested in Mil-Air monitoring.

Well if I was you, I wouldn't go with the -95 or the -97. Reason is when the FCC starts rebanding the trunking systems sometime next year, the -97 will have to be replaced because it will be incompatible with the new frequencies. The -95 might still work if I understand correctly. I would buy the PRO-96.

so does anybody know the radios that can be bought when they reband the frequencies because i really have my eyes pointed at the (((((((((((PRO 97)))))))))))

Currently, we have determined that the PRO-96 and the PRO-2096 scanners are upgradeable, and that the PRO-97 scanner will require replacement.
