Just checked scannermaster for the pro 197. Its 424.95, only four cents cheaper than Radshack. Personally... if they had any in stock I would buy the refurbished unit from Radshack for 299.99. It comes with the same warranty so why not?

It might be damaged or scratched ? One is taking a risk when buying anything refurbished.

Yes, it might have some cosmetic issues, but they're warranted to perform as described and if you're looking to save $125.00 off MSRP, this seems like a good deal to me. Just be sure that the warranty on the refurb unit is identical to the new item.
