RS Black Friday Specials???

Maybe the website copy and pasted from last years list. The Pro-106 was definitely on sale for $299.99 during the last Black Friday (I picked one up during that sale).

But it would sure seem like it would be in the current Black Friday ad if it were going to be on sale this year.

Yup. Unfortunately we'll have to just sit and wait.

I would think it'd be in the ad if it was going to be on sale, but others have said RS has a habit of adding last minute specials. Only time will tell.

The 1st black Friday ad shown was for 2011CY - if you look closely you can see that it states 2011. The 2nd 2012 black Froday I could not find any reference to a Pro 106 scanner either.

This wouldn't be the first year that everyone was anticipating a sale on RadioShack scanners.

It may not even make the ad but could still be found in the store or website on sale. Besides, you can't list the whole store in a three or four page ad. Only time will tell.

Yes, not the place for this topic. But I will tell you that for insurance/in store swaps, the paperwork does state that you will get a refurbished device. I have been in the wireless industry for nearly two decades and it has always been stated in the paperwork. By screaming at them and making a fuss when calling customer service you are only hurting yourself. There will be a point where e provider will decide that since you treat them they way you do as often as you may, they can not possibly satisfy you and let you go without your tmination fee. I have seen it happen several times.

The best way to get things done is to be polite.

Did you know that every carrier has a kind of 'customer score' and it is calculate in part by your attitude and behavior on the phone with customer service. The lower your score, the less likely you will be given good options from them.

Just my two cents for you.

Lol. Yeah, well, it's hard to be patient when you've had the funds for another scanner for about 2 or so weeks now and there's no sales to help divest you of said funds. But even if there turns out to be no juicy sale this week, there will probably be one around the corner ...hopefully while I still have the available dough, though. So, I shall try to stretch my patience a bit further.

Was at my local Radio Shack today and had the salesperson check for any scanners on the in stores specials
and there were none (as of mid afternoon). Then the same salesperson says , we're really a cellphone store not a scanner store anymore.

I was at one of my locals (work near one and one is on way home from work) yesterday to get another wall adapter for my 106. The clerk sort of knew what a scanner was "One of those police radio things?" and sort of knew where they were, but had no idea that he had the floor models on the wrong displays. The 106 shelf said it was only $124.99! He changed the tags after I told him which was which. Anyway, he brought out some adapter plugs and unfortunately sold me one that is a size too big. It fits the DC plug-in, but nothing happens when I turned on my scanner. So I'm going to take it and the the adapter plug I already have and show him what size I need. Good thing I don't need it right this moment.

It's quite sad that they seem to focus more on cell phones than anything else. Maybe they should change their name to Phone Shack.

The PRO-18 was on sale until Nov 17th for (gasp) 429, now its back up to (another gasp) 479
