Default Pro 197 $325!

Ive been watching their website daily waiting for the pro 106 to go back on sale (now that i have money saved for it) and noticed today the pro 197 has hit a price ive been wanting the pro 106 to hit! Since they dont make these anymore, do you think radio shack is just trying to deplete their inventory of a discontinued scanner with this sale??

SquierStrat:

If you purchase the Pro-197 on-line and use the $20.00 off coupon at http://www.couponcabin.com/coupons/radio-shack/ the net price (excluding tax) would be $305.

SInce when is the Pro-197 discontinued ? I haven't heard anything to suggest that GRE have stopped making them despite the rumors about GRE America closing.

The price of $325 for the Pro-197 is a discounted sale price which expires fairly soon.

i think you may be confused. gre america is not closing; they are staying open. they will be performing repairs and warranty work until further notice... GRE japan is where the trouble is. Since they have stopped ALL scanner production, i would say the pro197 is just as discontinued as any other GRE scanner..

And i would jump on in a heartbeat, if it was the 106. A mobile/base is not what i want..

That coupon does not work on the Pro-197! I tried it and a red box comes up when you try to apply it saying "your order does not qualify for this coupon".

I can't even get the coupon code to display. When I click on the link that is supposed to show the code it just takes me back to the same page.

Don't know if it works or not, but here it is.

SAVE $20 on all orders of $125 or More.

Enter Promo Code CC20 at Checkout.

Thank you for posting the code. Apparently, though, RS isn't honoring the coupon for whatever reason. Bummer.

I think the code was mentioned in another topic somewhere. There's fine print included with the code that says sales items not included (which is generally always the case). I guess they want every dollar they can get from you.

Don't know if id consider lowering the price $100 as "wanting every dollar they can get from you"...

Its been way lower. I got mine for $279 on sale at a RS 2 years ago. So yeah, they're squeezing you.

Sent from my Galaxy SII using some Tappity Talkity thing.

lol ya, cuz nothing has gone up in price in the last 2 years.
My point remains, that if they wanted every dollar they could get out of you, they would not put the product on sale , let alone for $100 off

I just bought a Pro 197 last month, it was on sale @ RS for $349. Thought I would get one before the price went back up at the end of the month.

Now this month they're $325. Go figure...

I'll show them! I bought another one!! Gotta dollar cost average, ya know...

If you are still within your 30 days from you when you bought it at Radio Shack, and now it is cheaper go to your local Radio Shack and bring your receipt and get a price adjustment for you difference. That's what I did.
