Not bad, though they've been at or below $300, with Christmas coupons, both legit and glitched, in past years. Might wait and see what shows up in about 4 weeks. With P25 TDMA becoming more and more a reality these are becoming less and less valuable, especially since the only thing they really shine at is 700/800 trunking.

What KE5TLF said. $299 closer to Christmas and on line/coupons could bring it down to $250 if you are on the ball. I have lived the in store $299 dream twice.

I saw it at $325 a couple of weeks ago but was unable to afford it and have been waiting for it to be that low again. With a PSR-800 being only $20 more at Ham Radio Outlet, I'd be hard-pressed to spend the $380 on a PRO-196. I will keep watching for a good sale on the 106 or 197. Hopefully if someone sees a good deal they'll share it here. :)

Noticed that the Pro-197 is back on sale at the shack for $379.99 for this week. I hope they put the Pro-106 back on sale soon too.

Not meaning to burst anyone's bubble here... but, HOR sells the PSR-600 aka the GRE version (only a firmware differance) for only $369.95 or so.... AND that their REGULAR price! But they they have a whole lot more radio and scanner savvy kguys in their stores.... (Sorry RS)
