Pro 2055 SQ problem

ok so i have in front of me a Pro 2055 that was mine - gave it to my sister its well cared for never been in a car out outside always used as base in a house

this is the problem the Sq seems to be "stuck" in the off poss .. i have tried everything resetting and initializing but still no go i cant get the SQ to turn up example i go to the WX channels it should scan though the channels to find location one but it doesnt



anyone heard of this anyone know to to fix ??

The purpose of the squelch is to mute (squelch) the audio when no (or too low) signal is present. A typical problem in that model of scanner is an open squelch potentiometer, but that is not the only thing which can cause what you describe. You could take the scanner to Radio Shack and they will give you a quote on repairing it, usually a flat rate. Otherwise someone would need to look at the signals and troubleshoot what is wrong.

Without a Service Manual or at least a schematic, a radio shop won't touch it. He said RADIO SHACK.

thanks all guess il just pitch it .. there no way a radio shack tech is touching this GRE made radio

PRO-xxx is considered a Radio Shack radio, regardless of who made it. They are the most likely to fix it.
