Question Programming Question ?

So today, I have a site group selected for the county I live in which is Morgan and the talk groups for Morgan county i want to listen to under a couple of banks.

Now I want to put a different county agency in a different bank to listen to as well. So do I need to pick the site group which is the control and alternate freq for this other county as well or can I use the same site group as before just select a different talk group. I didnt know if you needed the same county for the site group as your talk group.

Really don't know how this all works. didnt know if l needed the site group (control & alt) freq to match the county talk groups i want to listen to and can you have different site groups on different banks of talk groups.

Please help everyone who will try to help you and let us know. It looks like you may be in Morgan County, Georgia.
What scanner type and name.
What city.
What state.
What county.
What system in that area if you know.
What software or are you programming by hand.

Radio Shack Pro - 2096
Morgan County Indiana
Indiana Project Hoosier SAFE-T - Motorola Type II SmartZone Omnilink - Statewide
dont have any problems programming using Win96 and doing the web import through radio reference site. works really well and easy to use. I also have the radio shack cable that connects to my PC USB port and the scanner.

Just didnt know if you have to have the same site group (control & alt) freq for the county talk groups.

Live in Morgan county and I have the Morgan county site group selected and some Morgan County talk groups that I want on a few banks. Now I would like to put a different county on some other banks, Can I use the same site group (Control & alt) freq as im using for Morgan county and just select the other county listed under the talk groups. Or do I have to change the site group so it will match the other county talk group. also can you have different site groups on different banks

From my experience no u don't need there tower freq unless u are in range of that tower then u will pick them up more often but if there is not a radio operating off the tower in your county u will not hear them cause the tower will not repeat that talk group

ga82832bud, crossposting, or posting the same thread topic, in multiple forums is not allowed on here. I've converged all three threads to this one. Please try to choose the best forum, give it some time (a week at least) and if no responses are received then post to another.
