Pro-96 digital question?

Can a Pro-96 monitor a P25 Phase I system? I'm looking to buy a digital scanner ASAP because my county is going to be switching to a P25 Phase I system.

I have thought about the PSR-800 but upon further reading I found that there are problems with the SD card function of the scanner.

Also funds are not tight, but if I purchase an expensive scanner, I want it to be one I like.

Yes you can, I have the 2096 which is the mobile/base version of what you have and I monitor several phase 1 p25 systems where i live

Yes it can.

However, I would research your upcoming system via the Pennsylvania forum (and whatever other email scanning groups are in your area) to insure that your system really is going Phase 1. There are newer Phase 1 systems cropping up that use a modulation scheme many radios find difficult to handle (called LSM); it's worth doing your homework now to prevent problems later.

To add to what has already been posted, be advised it won't trunk-track 700 MHz systems.
