Thumbs down Pro-197 repair cost

Hey guys hows it going? Just last week I broke my scanner the volume knob and speaker wires broke. The people told me it would cost 74 dollars even to fix. Why is it so expensive?

$75 an hour is about right for a shop when factoring in all the associated costs.

I don't understand how both of those were broken but if that's all that's wrong you might consider getting a soldering iron and tacking it yourself. Otherwise, there are plenty of people here willing to do it for less I'm sure.

Ah... OK.

Still, it's an easy fix I'm sure but it sounds like it needs a whole new volume pot not just the wire reattached.
