Pro-197 S.A.M.E. Information Please
I set the code and put it on standby. My question is if i'm on default scanning will it alert me or do i have to be in WX mode? Thank You!

You can't be scanning at all. Has to be in Wx standby. I had the same question a couple of months ago.
Have a good one.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but I thought that you can program your WX frequency into the priority and it will Scan all your stuff and every 6 seconds or so check to see if there is a alert tone on the WX freq that you put in priority. Just how I thought it would work not sure if that is the way it works LOVE AND BLESSINGS

Thank You Very Much. I Coded my local WX station with my SAME code, put it in conv. and marked it priority.... Lets see..
Also How many objects can be entered under conv.? Demo Scanner software lets you add lines. Just wondering. Thanks Again

CTorris,
I don't think that will work. I tried it and found that it would alert for ALL SAME codes for ALL areas, but not your specific area. When I posted here about it, they informed me that you have to be in STANDBY mode for WX and not scanning for it to work properly.
Like they told me, buy a $40 weather radio that will do what I wanted. Oh well. Still haven't done that yet.
Here's my thread on this:
PRO-197/106 Weather and SAME code problem

S.a.m.e. weather
Ok here you go, Don't worry about adding codes or anything, the scanner is already set up with the S.a.m.e. codes. if you know your expecting bad weather that day just put the weather on priority, choose which frequency is your closes weather station. then hit scan. If an alert comes over your scanner will acitvate with a alarm, the alert will come over the radio, after the alert the scanner will go right back to scan untill another alert comes over. thats all you need to do. I would also suggest on adding the weather spotter network if your area uses one.

As many as you want can be entered Conv. Im not sure about the software part. From what I thought you didnt put the WX freq in as conv. you just put it in the priority and put priority on while scanning then it does it. LOVE AND BLESSINGS

Absolutely wrong, as mentioned above. You can't monitor SAME codes while scanning,

Is this when you have it scanning and have a WX freq in the priority? If so on this manual http://www.radioshack.com/graphics/u...0197_PM_EN.pdf page 64 and 65 Weather Priority Mode is this what your talking about?

So you are saying in this post that you tried it, meaning you put a WX freq in as priority, and pressed scan with priority on, and it picked up The Alert but it was for all the counties that are covered by that tower, not just specifically the one you wanted? So if Im understanding right it can pick up alerts in Scan mode with Priority on, but just will alert regardless for any county in that area that has a alert or warning?
Hopefully this will clear it all up LOVE AND BLESSINGS
