Default Pro-106 Question

hey guys,
I have a question since someone brought up programming and the 106. I had a 106, I now have a 197 which we all know is the mobile/base version. Manny (N1SQB) had a 197 and when we were setting his up, I never noticed how much we were missing on the State Police system. He actually talked to the radio shop and they said if we were to program the radio 100% the right way we'd wind up using all of the memory. I'd be interested in what you guys think

joe

I actually own a Pro-106 as of now. I only have 1 trunking system, 42 talkgroups and several other conventional frequencies programmed into it and only used 3% of the scanners memory.

What State Police are you trying to monitor?

actually it was for CT State Police and just about the whole system talkgroups freqs and all. I used to have a 106 and loved it but apparently I was missing a lot and sure enough when we put both radios together same antenna we missed quite a bit

When you say State Police system, that gets me to thinking the whole state's systems. Every system across the state and all the talkgroups plus conventional frequencies (low band, vhf, uhf). That would be quite abit of programming. That is what it sounds like he is referring to.
