no response from scanner

using win 500 to program a pro-2096 and the program keeps saying that there is no response from the scanner. Im confused because I am able to upload from the scanner to the program. can someone please help

Win500 is not intended for use with the Pro2096.

Win96 is what you need.

Software for RadioShack PRO-series (PRO-92, 93, 95, 96, 97, 99, 163, 164, 106, 197) and GRE PSR-series (PSR-500, 600, 300, 400, 310, 410) scanners

Win96 is neccessary to program the 2096. Win500 is for the 197/106 radio shack scanners, and the gre 500/600 scanners. The only thing that you can do with Win500 is to import a file from Win96.
