Default Pro-106 Batteries

Looking for recommendations for rechargable batteries for my Pro-106. I know there's a host of batteries out there to choose from, I was just wondering which ones give the best oevrall performance. Thanks in advance for your input.

Instead of beating this topic any more times, you'll get some very good answers by reading the many (well, very many) similar threads on this topic (note, the type of radio isn't really important since they nearly all use the AA type batteries). Here a few to get you started:

Best rechargeable Batteries
PSR-800 w/ rechargeable batteries
396XT rechargeable battery
Pro 106 and rechargeable batteries
Rechargeable Batteries

One thing I want to bring up (it's also in many of these threads no doubt) that's fairly important. It's generally not a good idea to recharge your batteries in your radio. It's fairly common to have them overheat, which can cause damage to your scanner. It's often recommended that you get a couple of sets and rotate them as necessary. Once one set has ran out of power, swap it for your other set and charge the first using an external charger. The scanner you save may be your own!

I have to commend you for your post and for "Nipping it in the bud".

My contention is that if you want to start a vigorous, exhaustive argumentitive debate (All Redundant) here on RR, many of which are fruitless and useless and beaten to DEATH, ask a question about the best batteries, chargers, antenna's, Uniden vs GRE, indoor antenna, etc. Did I miss anything? If so,please don't argue about it.

It's all been beaten to death, for God's sake.

I guess I am just as guilty. I have seen every episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" 2 or 3 times. I guess that's why I still come here.

I have a question, while I am at it. What is the best volume level to use?

wow, do I ever feel like a read headed step child, sorry to have ruffled feathers here, I normally get more positive responses. I tell you what, in the future I promise not to post a question without first researching it if you promise not to give such a condescending response. I've always been told this is a hobby friendly site with helpful members, guess I was somewhat misled.

No, I apologize for making you feel that way. I was venting and clowning around and it wasn't appropriate. You had a valid question, so sorry for grouping you in with others, generalizing and stereotyping.

It's really a great site for asking questions and learning. My bad. Once again, I apologize.

Sorry, Sir. Enjoy!

Thank you, and as I said, I will try to research before asking, I just guess I didn't consider how many times that question may have been asked in the past.

It normally is...I'm guessing it's a combination of you being a longtime forum member (expectations of research) and ground down patience with the constant flood of people repeating questions over and over again. Hanging out too long in the Scanner and Recievers Forums isn't too good for mental health. I wouldn't take it personally, but I'm not exactly in your shoes here.

Spitfire - Thank you. You nailed it. Still, I should not have lashed out at our friend. The site is about friends helping friends, so let's continue to do that.

I apologize for the negativism. It wasn't warranted, and as I stated and you affirmed, I was venting.

Good night guys. I hope that we can help each other in the future.
