I listen to a lot of railroad radio. With the railroads going to the 12.5kH from 25 kH, I have noticed that my Pro97's range has gone in the toilet. I was getting almost 35 miles with it and now I'm done to about 4 and I am not able to hear any dispatcher transmitions at all. Is there a way to make the pro97 160 to 162 frequency range use the 12.5kH band. I want to try to use Win97 to do the programming, but that's not something I have to use.

Thanks

If you could switch it to use 12.5kH bandwidth, it would not help you recieve any better. I would only increase the volume some. Yes I noticed the range difference also, but there is nothing you can do about it except put up an outside antenna to get better reception. I can swap to nfm on my scanner, but I found it picks up a little better in wfm mode.
