Default RS Pro Scanners

There is a big difference in Recpetion, features etc. between the two. The RS Pro 96 is no longer made, the Pro 106 is. I'd get that over the 96 anyday.

One of the differences is that the PRO-106 will receive the newer 700 Mhz trunking systems out of the box whereas the PRO-96 won't. I may have read that you could tweak the 96 so that it could receive 700 but there are limitations. I'm not certain on that. I am certain that the PRO-96 doesn't do 700 by default.

Default Pro 106 vs Pro 96

I have both, and there is no contest, the 106 wins hand down. The 96 will not do LTR systems, is horrible on simulcast, and considerably less memory and Vscan folders. Although it may receive 700 mhz, frequencies, it cannot track them.
