UPS doesn't ship to PO Boxes.

Maybe because I had the scanner shipped to a P.O. Box they chose USPS. Anyway hope you have a good day and maybe learned something new.[/QUOTE]

Same here Eng3ineer our sorting was shut down and centralized over in
Shreveport, La. It is amazing the package goes right by our Post Offices
on the way from Dallas to Shreveport. Then heads back west out of Shreveport.
Now with the USPS on holiday for Presidents Day I am guessing for a Tuesday
delivery. My first post to this forum and being accused of making stuff up or being
confused is kind of out of place if you ask me.

Yeah, It is kinds humors watching a package past by your town or area few time before arrives. FedEx holds recorded for me Memphis, Houston, Memphis again, Dallas, Shreveport, Texarkana, then Fouke to USPS for delivery.

I've been member since 2011 and you will find some like to be quick to judge. But don't let that get you down this is great site with tons of info and some very helpfully members.

Yes sir I find that to be the case with a lot of forums. I think I have been a member since 2007 but have never posted until yesterday. Will be cautious when posting here.

Glad these are working out for everyone! I have to admit ,when the PSR800 and Pro 18 were released I was in the camp of " no keypad,no dice". Just wasn't interested. BUT, the more I play with this scanner, I have really grown to like it. I thought the GRE500/Pro106 were really sensitive, But I have been picking up NOAA stations from well over 100 miles away-------with the RS 800 MHz antenna. I was testing it against the various scanners in my signature , and it was beating them all. Very impressed. Mike

I've been only playing around with it now for about an hour but I am amazed at how sensitive this thing is. Noise floor is low (much lower than my HP-1) and very easy to listen to. Now if I can just get used to that bulls eye keypad!

Thanks again Haley.

That keypad does take some getting used too! I'm actually really starting to wonder why I didn't break down a couple of years ago and buy one of these. Although I never saw one in any store I was ever in. Guess I'm glad I got one this way, far and away the best $80 I've ever spent for any electronic device. Like I said , just glad lots of members got in on the deal! Mike

I got mine Monday and I , too, was very happy. It came with all the accessories. I think mine was a display model, as it had very limited programming already done to it and the typical RS batteries in it.
(Everything else was still sealed up.). It works great, really sensitive, and good audio. The software programming is a little clunky, but as someone who likes to know how to program "by hand", I was able to figure out the programming without software in a short amount of time. I've been very happy with my $78 P25 scanner thus far. I might, might, give it to my father as a gift.

Had mine now for few days and it's been an excellent 80 bucks spent, wishing now I had ordered more to update my aging fleet of Pro 90. Once one gets the hang of things it pretty simple to enter talk groups and such by hand using the key pad and even easier using the software.

I ended up with S/N: 001167 only thing say watch out for is the plastic belt clip. I went to slide it over my belt and it snapped off right were the clip starts at the mount part.

Update - picked up my scanner at the post office this past Tuesday. Looks and works great. It appeared to be used as a store demo but for 80 bucks I would like a couple more just like it. Easy to program via the software or the scanner itself. This unit had the latest firmware. Great receive sensitivity. Serial number 2065 Thanks again for the heads up Harley.

Cool Questionable selling tactics

Of those that got in on the Pro-18 deal, myself included, It sounds like everyone is happy for what they received. Reports are that some items were new, and some were either lightly-used returns or store demos. All good for $80, but, Overstock listed these as New, correct?

Maybe the whole listing was screwed up - cheap price, incorrect descriptions, listed as new.. Though, Overstock could have known that many of the units were opened, and got a great price because no one wanted to sort them out. Radio Shack may have had to dump all of them as seconds for whatever reason. So the price may not have been a mistake. But to list all of them as "new" bugs me a bit. I prefer retailers don't lie to me.

Over-thinking this? Probably..

I wish I could've got one of the $79.95 ones because I could've afforded it; but not with the raised price. Oh well. I just wasn't that lucky. :-(
