Let Radio Shack rest in peace. They've been dead for years!

The best chance of success lies with the dealer stores, as they can be more responsive to their local customer base. That's so long as they can replenish inventory. When legacy RadioShack Corporation folded in 2015, and General Wireless bought the remains, store stock became depleted in many popular categories. The next two years was spent repeating the phrase: "I'm sorry. We're out of stock on that." It became very demoralizing! We never saw a consistent improvement in inventory levels right up through the second bankruptcy in 2017. Today, RS continues to directly operate roughly 30 corporate stores, as well as RS.com. If you survey the website, the pricing and availability suggest the company is continuing in bankruptcy. They aren't giving the appearance that they're in business for the long term.

If Radio Shack really were trying to stay in business they would be replenishing their stock, but they are not. What is left on their website is not an interest to me. I have a couple of local Electronic Stores close to home where I can get what I need quicker,

I don't know what their plan is, but as you say, it doesn't appear they want to remain in business. The .com site is devoid of many products that are either listed as "sold-out online", or are simply not shown at all. This, with just 25 days until Christmas! I'd be curious to know what the inventory levels are for the dealer stores at this point, or for the small number of remaining corporate stores for that matter. Maybe someone knowledgeable can chime in.

well as of a couple of months ago an independent dealer/franchise owner that i have known for some time was having a rough go of it. "available" items through the radio shack distribution had dropped to a third or less numerically speaking and of any order he made, he was receiving well less than a third of what he ordered. he was at this point sourcing inventory from anywhere he could, and making it all "retail ready" one item at a time, on his own (packaging, labels etc). very not cool.

It's been "Rat Shack" here for a long time. And yes that does refer to noxious rodents.
