The store was supposed to send it in today. So, I look to be without it for a week at the very least.

They gave me a repair receipt with a phone number and invoice number so that I could call and get updates on the progress of repair. I might call on Wednesday or Thursday to get an update. So, I guess we'll see how it goes.
Did your scanner go to North Carolina? If so, I wouldn't expect it back for at least 2 or 3 weeks.. That repair center seems to be very slow at getting things repaired, not to mention it is so far away (3 or 4 days just in shipping!).

Well my display went out again yesterday.
It only worked 8 days since the repair.
This morning I turn it on and would't ya know, it's working again.

I hope it goes out again soon, so and I can get it repaired once and for all.

It will say on your receipt. I am sure it is North Carolina, or the next closest I think is New York (or in one of those states up there).

There are 2 dates on the PRO 2055. 06/05 and 09/05. The 09/05 is the one which seems to be having display problems.

That's the only two dates?

I ordered one from RS.com on Monday. It is supposed to be here on Thursday. I sure hope mine doesn't have that problem!

Maybe mine will be a newer date with NO problems. I can only hope.....

I hope it is an isolated problem. Like a certain batch of LCD's are faulty.

I wonder how many 2055's RS has sold because of this sale? Do they sale good?

The PRO 97 is what sells the most, but maybe that is because that is what we push the most. Not all the 2055's with the 9/05 date stamp is bad, because the one we have on display, and on 24/7 has never gone out, and it has the 9/05 date stamp on it.

The 2055 came in today. date code 09a05. I hope to have no problems.

Haven't had much time to mess with it. Don't have any software so I'll likely be punching it in on this one and maybe cloning to the 97 if/when I get it.

I've sent 3 of these out now for repair all with the same problem from my store. The Amherst, NY repair center has been fixing them and turning them around in a week or so, and we haven't had any problems since. I can't recall of the top of my head what the actual problem was but I think it may have just been a solder job, but don't quote me on that.

It's definitely a solder problem, I'd fix it in about 5 min (and void my warranty!), and it might have a heat/cold related issue as well comes and goes with cold. Mine is still coming and going. I guess I'll send it in since they seem to have a fix, it's a good radio other than that.

Cant wait for the new BC-15 to come out.

Don't you have Don Starr's Win97? It works with the PRO-2055!

No sir, not yet. I hope to get a PC cable and the Software in the future. Right now $$$ is tight and I wanted to get the 2055/97 combo before I purchase software. I am going to punch in (have punched in) the local stuff....Then later use the softare to add some more things.

So far, I like the 2055! Good receive but haven't listened to it for about 1 or 2 hours tops.

You can try the software for 30 days. Don Starr recommends it so you are sure you're happy with it.

I wish others were so understanding. I've tried a popular software for the unidens, and I can't say that I'd buy it without being able to really try it out 1st.

Yeah I saw that. That is cool. I intend on buying but I will try it first. I just gotta get that cable. Man RS should give you a cable like Uniden does.
