Default PRO-2055 Display Problems

--Hi, all. My fairly new Pro-2055 is not showing any alpha-numeric characters anymore. All that is showing is the blank, amber backlight screen. Otherwise, the scanner works okay. It still scans, the ATT button works, manual button, etc. all seem to work. I cannot find my manual to my scanner, and Radio Shack website does not have a copy online (though there is a clickable link for one, none is listed! )

--What do you suggest I do? A hard reset? Ugh... Thanks for any help.

P.S.
Using the Win 97 software, it will still read/write as well...so it's not totally fried.

I've got the same problem, reset didn't help. I think its a bad display board. I'm sending mine in for repairs under warranty

--Ok. I have also lost my receipt (I ordered it online from RS, by the way). I thought it was in the box. Will not having the receipt be a problem? How did you go about sending it in? Pack it yourself, or did you take it to a local RS? Thanks.

When did you guys buy your 2055s? I am fixing to buy one but may hold off if this is a new problem.

mmm, maybe something in that run? How about date codes or serial #'s possibly being similar?

Mine did the same thing. It was repaired under warranty.
Took 3 weeks, as they did not have LCD in stock at repair center in Amhurst, New York.
Got it back 3/18 and it is working great.
All that was replaced was the LCD Display.

Date code is 09A05.

Mine is starting to act up too! I got mine on Jan. 27 of this year. To bad that I didn't take out the warranty that they offered. Anyone have any other ideas?

It should still be under warranty.

09A05, like everyone else's. If it is still under warranty, I am probably still SOL as I only have the box and no receipt.

The date code proves it is less than 1 year old. I would take it back.

I think the 09A05 is the first run of the 2055.

I could not find my receipt either.
They found mine in their computer.
The warranty is 1 year from date of purchase.

Well, I purchased the 2055 today online. I hope the date code isn't 09A05 but I suppose if I have problems then I can send it back. Sounds like a great scanner. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Just an update:

I found my receipt and took mine back to the store yesterday. They said that since I was past the 60-day mark on the warranty, and not to the 90-day, that all they could do was send it in for repair. The store was supposed to send it in today. So, I look to be without it for a week at the very least.

They gave me a repair receipt with a phone number and invoice number so that I could call and get updates on the progress of repair. I might call on Wednesday or Thursday to get an update. So, I guess we'll see how it goes.
