The -18 did not even have p.2 decode, record, all 200 scan lists, any V-scanner folders, and the list goes on. For me, this is all pure gravy and I refuse to take the attitude that future Whistler updates "should" be made compatible with my RS radios...regardless of who built them.

Sometimes, "enough" just has to be enough.
WELL SAID!!!! Thank you DJ11DLN, and a huge thank you to Eric!!!!!

We have been down this road before and I do not see good reason to go there again. I have stated my position before and I have nothing to gain by going there.

Hello all,
I last did the Whistler 3.8 FW to my 2 RS-668 but managed to just now miss the window of time with the new driver and 4.5 GrefwTool process that would download direct from Whistler. So now I believe I need to ask one of you for a PM and a link to the 4.5 bin, and use the process I used with the 3.8. After I receive the 4.5 from someone, will I be okay then to use the older GREFwToolWin0.1.0.2.exe and point to the local copy of 4.5 bin file, as the instructions were with the 3.8? And will I need a newer driver and latest ez-scan with the 4.5 vs. the 3.8? Please send me the 4.5, and answers to the previous questions.
Thanks in advance,
ScottPDX

Hello,

You need the latest version of GREFwTool to use Version 4.5.

Thanks, all. I have the 4.5 bin file now.
Appreciate everyone's effort on keeping the PRO-668 viable.

I think you find that the sensitivity will be much better with version 4.5.

I already had 4.5 on my radios...I somehow either managed to goof saving the FW after updating or else I somehow accidentally deleted it. Life as a thumb-fingered idiot is a real drag sometimes.

And I agree, sensitivity is even better with 4.5. Did I mention that I'm a happy camper since Eric worked his magic?

I tried it with grefwtool 0.2.0.3 and it errors out with *transcode not supported on this scanner or version of firmware"
