Be aware that after market cables Can brick your Pro-106. I'd only use the original cable designed for it. Also IF you can't find a cable, it Can be programmed by the keypad. 73, n9zas

As I understand it only the cables with Prolific chipsets are the ones being counterfeited (mostly by the Chinese). The FTDI chipsets are much more reliable, at least from what I've read

Whistler sells the cable on their website. It is the same cable that is used for programming the Whistler 1045, and 1065. Sells for about $30 or so.

One note: if you get the cable with the little pigtail, you can shelve this, I think - most of the newer scanners don't need it. Some of the very old RS models do...Mike
