Pro 97 Power Problem

I hope someone can give me better news than what im thinking. The other night i went chasing a structure fire and in the process of putting my scanner together, i put non rechrgable batteries into the yellow charging cradle. When i got into my truck i plugged the adapter in. The scanner worked fine, well i forgot and left it plugged in overnight, and the batteriers, exploded, leaked out, whatever you want to call it. The scanner no longer works plugged in or witht he regular battery pack in it. Im guessing i fried the board inside, unless anyone else knows of somethign else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

non-rechargeables weep a scanner-eating goo.... if it is under warranty you might consider that route to replace it... chances are your radio is now a paperweight.
