Default What RS RCA Cabel is needed to connect 96 to micro tape recorder?

I'm missing the action.

I couldn't find any on the RS site, I'd like to connect a RS scanner, pro-97 or 96 to an old VOR tape recorder jack to record.

I'm looking for three different kinds of connections:

#1 will be a single cable RCA jack to another RCA headphone jack on an old micro tape player

#2 will be a single cable RCA from the scanner to Two rca (White and Red) jacks to an old cpu or old recorder

#3 will be a single cable jack from the scanner to some other form of output recorder that newer computers or recorders have for recording. I don't own any newer CPU's, Laptops or digital recorders yet, but I'd like to get it now and cover my bases.

Does RS stock any of these and what are the item numbers? Thanks

I use a 1/8 to 1/8 mono attenuated cable to an Olympus digital recorder. Then I can transfer the recording to my pc as wave files.

I don't have specific part numbers for the cables that you're looking for but something else for you to consider. I'm not sure how old the computer is that you're looking to use but there are free software solutions to the problem of recording your scanner audio. I use scanner recorder which has worked very well for me. It offers a VOX function, meaning that it only records when there is audio. That saves you a ton of disk space filled with nothing.

It's input is the line-in port on your computer. I've found that less is more meaning that if you keep the scanner at a resonable but lower volume level that you'll end up getting much cleaner results in the audio that is recorded.

I use a 1/8" male to 1/8" male cord between the scanner's headset output and the scanner's audio input/mic port. (like your option #1) You could probably rig a similiar set up using your option two if your computer supported that type of input option.

Good luck finding the exact cables that you need. I'm sure that someone here knows the part numbers or at least how to find them.

A quick look at the RS website dug this up. I've heard that using a heavier duty cable can make a lot of difference. Still, i use something a little cheaper.
