Pro 2017

I recently pulled out a Pro-2017 model from my closet where it sat since the day it was bought. When I bought it did not pick up any traffic, not even a weather channel. All lights work, squelch, scan, etc. but no radio traffic whatsoever. It was never taken back to the RS like it should have then. Does anyone have an idea what may be my proble. It has a telescopic antenna that is in and appears to be in working order. Any ideas, thanks.

It would be almost impossible to diagnose a problem like that over the internet, without seeing it or opening it up or running tests on it. Your best bet would be to take it to your local Radio Shack and see if they can send it off to the repair center to have it repaired. The worse that could happen is they tell you they can't repair a scanner that old.

Even if you knew what the problem was, it's likely that you couldn't repair it yourself.
