Default Pro 2067 Squelch Problem

I have a Pro 2067 in my Jeep. Occasionally and without any apparent pattern the squelch will freak out. By this I mean that the squelch will turn "full on" all by itself. If I turn the knob so the squelch should be "off" it is still on and I only hear the strongest of signal that break squelch. This happens both in trunking banks and non trunking banks. It has been back to Radio Shack twice, they found nothing. If I turn the scanner on and off in rapid succession 4-5 times it fixes it. A soft reset does nothing. A hard reset fixes it but then I spend hours re-programming. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When this happens is it on the same freq. each time? Also make sure your ground wire has a good contact. I know my local PD when the go to "secure" all I get is static and it shows the PL for the department.

I have no idea about what is causing the problem, but you need to download a copy of Win92 from Don Starr and pickup a programming cable from RS.
