CN police freqs

Hey all, just curious if anyone might know the freqs for the CN police. When i was up north last summer around the 4TH of July there was a lot of action around my hometown, and i heard references to CN police. I`d like to be able to listen in if possible (i got a sneaky feeling they may be encrypted though). Thanks for the help. N9NRA

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they use cell phones now, aside from when they need to speak to train crews.

There was a frequency listed in the Toronto area for CN Police, but after years of having it in my scanner, I've never heard a thing CN police related on that channel.

Considering there are maybe a couple dozen CN police officers spread across Canada, having a centralized dispatch and canada-wide radio system is a touch impractical.

Hey thanks, mabey i should have clairified my post a bit, i was intrested in the CN police freqs for the US side, i`ll have a peek at the RR database and see what i can scare up there, any suggestions for mabey a Wiki article that might have what i`m after? That would work too. N9NRA

I have these frequencies in my list for some time, I don't listen to the rail frequencies anymore so can't confirm them anymore but this is what I used to pickup in Fort Erie Ontario

Here in central Michigan, CN Police use to be active on 160.470, although very infrequently. They now have talkgroups on the state's MPSCS system. Last week I heard a unit check in on the "CNRRPD1" channel through the Dimondale tower.

They are all on the new digital P25 system or as the other poster stated MPSCS system. They now utilize St. Clair county for their LEIN and also check in with their dispatch on their main frequency. You'll hear the Port Huron CN units frequently use St. Clair County's air when making traffic stops or requesting assistance. I'll see if I can dig up the frequencies unless someone else can.

I think the real question is "Where is your home town?" Being in '9' land, you won't hear MPSCS ops of the CN (GTW) Railroad police in Michigan and if you do, it's not going to communications pertinent to your area.
