More towns should setup spots like that... It's an easy way to bring tourists.

Georgia is a real rail-fan friendly state. In rural Manchester and also in Austell Georgia, there are large gazebo's built very close to the tracks for people to shoot from. Manchester is a small yard, but a major crossing point in Georgia. Austell sits just south of a NS Intermodal yard and you also get the Amtrack twice a day. There is a small knoll in Marietta that I would sit on, in my portable chair, with my beach umbrella over me (the sun does beat down!) and I would shoot from there. Marietta PD would drive by and just wave to me!
