Hello,
I am new to rail fanning. I have some tracks running behind my house. I am needing the frequencies for the Knoxville,TN rail road area. I can go behind my house with a lawn chair and sit next to the tracks and watch/ listen to the trains. Please someone gimme some help.
PS: I also need some one to describe all the rail radio jargon to me. I hear it but have no idea what it all means

Can you give me some type of reference or GPS coordinates to locate the tracks you are talking about?

If I can find out what tracks go by your house then I can find out the Railroad and Subdivision name and then can get you exactly the frequencies you are needing.

Maybe just give me an intersection or any address (yours or somewhere else) that they run close to and I should be able to help you out.

I looked at your address listed in the ULS database and I could not find out what tracks you were talking about.

Here is what I had programmed in my radio when I was up there a couple of years ago. First group is CSX.
160.410,160.520,161.100,161.370. This group is for NS. 160.950,160.830,161.535,160.410,161.160. The road channels above are 161.100 for CSX and 160.950 for NS.
