Yea he was asked not to use our repeater network on May 3rd... He complained to the FCC... FCC said well stay off it as you where asked too... He *****ed about it in another video back in may... Then I see he posted the following again here on a RR forum on 6-15-2012:

What's going on with 2m?
440? well, that's another story. plenty of them; most are occupied by professional butthole Amateur radio operators, who think they are God's gift to Amateur Radio. Like that one punk A$$ed bastard over in Fenton, Michigan, who runs his Daddy's communications business and thinks he's so stinking wonderful. He is the biggest prick in Michigan and I am told, everyone knows it; but tolerates it, because he's got money and can get them the stuff they need.

The rest are occupied and owned by wanna-be cops and by those who've never worked a hard day in their lives. Desk jockey's I call them.

----

Which I guess he is talking about me... But I don't work for my father ( he works for a different company not even local for the past 25 years)... I am not rich by any means... I guess I am also not a desk jockey.... I have worked hard for the same family since i was 16 and got what I have because of it. He did get one thing right I do have the biggest prick but I am not sure how he knows that as we have never met face to face... And if people don't like it they can leave.. not forcing anybody to use our stuff... Would save on my power bills and others power bill for sure... But when all you can do is sit on the internet and ***** all day do you expect anything less.... First I have heard of this guy was only the first of may... other then that he doesn't contribute to society as a whole expect making videos on the interwebs on how he was wronged...

Smile why worrie

You know I was born and raised in Detriot, I have also watched Detroit and Wayne County both go down hill for years now, and you ask why no ones doing what they should be doing. The politicans are all crooks, the crooks are all crooks. And everyone is doing there job, but not doing what there paid to be doing. Detroit the mayer that was (Kilpatrick) and all his friends that stole everything from Detroit the city council that just talks and fights amoungst themselfs but gets nothing done. They are trying to get rid of a police force that really don't exist now for the size of Detroit. Now the fire department is going to be so small they could not put out a match is it was lit. The new mayor soulda stuck to basketball and quit sticking his nose up the goveners butt so the governer can get his bridge. And all the crooks that stol from the schools so the kids can't learn.
And you want the weather reported better go figure, can't get the city or county to do right how you gonna get the weather right no ones going to do anything to help Wayne County or the city of Detroit till it's turned to farm land with a bridge.
You can get killed anywhere but the chances in Detroit is 95% better.
I say if you want the weather you broadcast it. Or move to Oakland County they sound the sirens for just a lil rain and wind.
Have a nice day.

And this is why I will have nothing to do with Skywarn, RACES, ARES, REACT, or any other such group. Most of them do pretty good work, but at the price of attracting every whack job in radio range. No thank you.

Skywarn really isn't what it used to be thanks to SpotterNetwork. It's just so much easier to use that for reporting. More accurate, MUCH faster, and goes out to more people. And you don't have to wait for anyone to tell you to activate...

Rob pretty much read my mind. SpotterNetwork makes things a lot easier and avoids most of the politics. Through SpotterNetwork's input into NWSChat and AWIPS your messages reach NWS, EM, media, and other spotter groups monitoring the chat room instantaneously and simultaneously. True, ham radio still has a place but more and more NWS offices are moving away from using ham radio due to unreliability of the people (not the equipment) and because SpotterNetwork is ore inclusive.

Uhhh WHAT???
You did get one thing right. SpotterNetwork is much more easier. So easy in fact you don't even need to go to a skywarn class to get into it. Maybe that is why the NWS puts much more weight on reports it gets from ham radio, skywarn spotters, and other trained sources. Half the time our NWS don't even list SpotterNetwork reports in its perliminary storm report. Thats why even though I am a member, I never use it. Im not sure where you get that nws offices are moving away from ham radio. Almost every nws office in the country has ham radio.

As far as K8CPA goes, he has been banned from so many local repeaters I lost count. I am most certainly not the biggest fan of Wayne CO RACES (anyone who knows me will tell you that), but that is no reason to bash MICON. The hams who operate MICON are activated directly and solely by the NWS. IMHO I think they do a great job. As far as local county activation...... go talk to your county EC, off the air. Posting a useless video of you illegally keying up a repeater will get you nowhere here.

Also bashing individuals on a public forum will get you even fewer friends. Myself and Fred have had a few run-ins in the past, but personal feelings aside, he puts a lot of time, effort, and money into MICON as well as other systems, and does many, many public service events. By the way K8CPA I have yet to see you at any public service event.

QwKiE..... Oakland County sets off the sirens for 1 of 3 reasons. The first Saturday of the month siren test. If a Tornado Warning is issued, or a tornado is sighted. Lastly, if a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued, with winds of 70mph or greater. If you are still confused, feel free to watch this informational movie found here.... Oakland County Video Center - Homeland Security Siren System

By the way did I mention that most hams who bother with skywarn nets are skywarn trained. So they can also use the more conventional means such as the toll free spotter line to report stuff, so you still do not need to wait for someone to tell you to activate.

Unless we are already knowledgeable with meteorology and what information NWS wants to get from us, the SKYWARN classes are excellent in quality and run by the NWS professional staff. Like a lot of other tasks, an untrained volunteer isn't normally worth a damn.
