Default Radio Shack.

After reading numerous posts on this site regarding FM traps, I thought seeing as they were only $5 I would go down to the local RS ,get one and see if it made a difference to my air band reception. The girl working there tapped into her computer and told me they had none in stock but a neighboring RS had some. I thought I would breeze around anyway and sure enough I found three of them on the rack. My next problem was to get a couple of adapters (BNC to coax) to connect to the scanner. After 30 minutes of the `manager' fumbling around the store, I gave up and left. I used to use RS all the time to buy electronic components for my college projects 20 years ago but I am not sure I will use them again for anything more advanced than batteries.

It sounds like you either need a new wife or a new parts store.
It is probably easier to change stores, although that may not solve the problem.
Rule # 1 NEVER send a WOMAN wife or otherwise to do a mans job.
Rule # 2 If you want a job done right DO IT YOUR SELF.

Merry Christmas.

here was my recent trip to RS. I was building a new longwire antenna for my Icom and I needed insulators. I browsed the store when the kid finally asked if he could help.I explained that I needed insulators for a long piece of wire attached to two poles for a antenna. He thought for a minute and came back with the wonderful responce of " most people use electrical tape for that"! Off I went to Tractor supply and got some porcelin insulators for the job.
