If you said something like: "The present leadership in Israel are thieves, openly stealing Palestinian land in the West Bank.." Again I would agree with you!

Do all Jews support Netanyahu and his Likud policies? No.

Personally, I believe the only just solution is a greater Israel that encompasses all of Gaza and the West Bank and that gives every Palestinian equal rights just as Jewish Israelis have. I'm in a minority view on this, and it will probably never happen, but it's the only thing that will work. The next best thing is the two state solution, but that means giving up ALL the land and control of the occupied territories, going back to the 1967 borders.

Let's be careful in these discussions how we characterize other religions, races, ethnicities. I do not believe ALL Muslims are intent on creating a World Caliphate, in fact, I believe those Muslims that believe that are in a minority and are the extremists.

Again, there are Jews that openly condemn the taking of West Bank land, period and are going so far as to boycott institutions and businesses that profit from these actions:

Staff and Board | Jewish Voice for Peace

Read their Mission Statement and then see what you think, Radio.
Fair point.

I agree with what you are saying. In the name of religion there have been many crimes done, I agree that not all the people in a religion are extremist.

In my opinion religion in general is a bad thing. I mean as if we need yet more avenues of separation in our world. Peace is hard to come by when you have 4,200 estimated religions in the world and they all think they are right. How can anything good come from that?

Which is why I'm an atheist, myself!

For me, being Jewish is a cultural/ethnic identity and nothing more.

I have trouble with any notion of forming a government based on a religion, so the idea of a "Jewish State" rubs me the wrong way. Believe me, I am in a very small minority on this and I've been labeled a "bad Jew" or a"self-loathing Jew", etc from other Jewish folks because of this.

I feel the same way about other countries self identifying as being a religious state, such as Iran or Saudi Arabia, or ANY country anywhere on the planet that forms a government based on ANY religion.

Yes, I do believe, Radio, that religion, in general, causes more problems than it solves.

And now back to our regularly scheduled Tavern programming!

Rob is long gone from this board! He meant it when he said he was leaving. Unless, you are talking about another Rob?

Funny, you and the rest of your Trumpette cupcakes do exactly the same thing as Feets said about Rob. Must be a Republican modus-operandi thing when faced with fact you dont agree with. Carry on oh ignorant Trumpette Cupcake.

Oh, it is the same Rob, then! N1RGR, yup.

I'm pretty sure he left Radio Reference because of some shenanigans directed towards him personally here in the Tavern.

Maybe he's lurking, I dunno, but I know him as man of his word; once he sets out to do something (or not do it, in this case) he does as he says.

It'll be interesting to see if he replies!

Kayn,

Just for grins and giggles, I looked Rob's stats up and he hasn't posted anything since 2014, just so you know. 73

Yea, I am not expecting a reply. I know Rob has left. Now we have a few Rob replacements. Same tired Conservative Christian Right arguments, from the dim witted suckers that fall for the conservative Cristian mantra:

Whine that woman want to make decisions about their body
Complain it is not the 1950's any more
Attack anyone that wants to be progressive
Deflect any sort of facts that refute their beliefs
Insult anyone that disagrees that Christianity is needed to be good citizens.

I was having the same battle in another forum.

These "love thy neighbor" and "love thy brothers" use their votes to hurt others. Oh, and for more military so that military can kill innocent people and create terrorists.

And I get told I have no morals when Christians of today are morally bankrupt.

I will care about people and let those who claim to care about people by their teachings lie all they want while I will walk the walk.

I haven't been posting but this hit the park.
