Question NCSO Simulcasting onTPD

Today received in Gardnerville NV 11/01/2012
Anybody know why Nevada Co Sheriff Dispatch West/East Channels are Simulcasting Countywide
on Truckee PD Primary?
Im hearing NCSO East (Weak) with West Dispatch Simulcast also.
Grass Valley Calls are coming over TPD Primary Channel.
Nevada county asking for multiple radio checks from units in the field.

These below appear to be tied together.

155.5650/141.3-PL-Nevada-CoSO--West---Primary
155.7600/156.7-PL-Nevada-CoSO--East----Primary
153.9050/097.4-PL-Truckee--PD1-..Police-Primary

There is a thread further down the page that discusses Truckee, Grass Valley, Nevada County and possibly others in the county now have consolidated comm-centers.
It would kinda make sense to multicast the radio traffic also I would think.
Sounds like that is what you are hearing.

I think you found the other thread already, but effective today 11/1, all police/sheriff dispatching for Nevada County has been consolidated at NCSO's dispatch Center in Nevada City. GVPD dispatch closed this morning, and Truckee dispatching already moved down there about a month ago.

More info at this thread in the California forum:
Nevada County, Grass Valley may consolidate police dispatching

Yes thanks, i did after scrolling down a bit further i found the thread.
Being in NV i dont always monitor Nevada County traffic,so i wasnt on top of this change.
I suppose this wont be the last of this type of consolidation.
Alpine(CA),Douglas,Carson City & Lyon Counties are working on consolidating dispatch centers, but i dont know those details yet.
They have approved Microwave Freqs and Licenses for a Point to Point Link between all above agencies and are building it now i believe.
Anyway going to read the thread pertaining to my initial question and may input my data as far as Unit Identifiers example 4-OCEAN-10 etc, for Truckee and Eastern County if i confirm them.

I'm sure you're right about that. In Calif anyway, the fire service has been doing it more and longer than police, and in some areas they've combined both police and fire for multiple agencies.

On the west side, the agencies are
1 - NCSO
2 - Nevada City PD
4 - Grass Valley PD

and "3" is obviously the Truckee area, though I don't know the geography or roads well enough to tell whether that number is used by both TPD and NCSO-East units or not.

"Ocean" appear to be GV and Nevada City PDs' patrol units, and "Sam" almost has to be Sergeants. Heard a couple "Adam" units, which may be command-level or Admin folks.

Sheriff's "Paul" cars are pretty obviously their patrol units, as they have been. That still leaves "Lincoln" (Lieutenants?), "Victor," "Tom," and at least one reported "Robert" and one "Ida" unit.

Questing about the simulcasting... is 155.76 still transmitting at all for the east side, or is 155.565 handling both sides of the hill?

Default NCSO East

On my way today from Gardnerville, NV over to Grass Valley, Ca via I80 and Hwy 20, I heard more transmissions on NCSO East 155.760 than i normally had before and nothing heard on Truckee PD channel. When I got over the hill, I heard plenty on 155.565 AS WELL as GVPD on their channel.

Hope this helps shed some light on the consolidation issues with the radio systems. Still working on unit numbers and who belongs to who!
