Default San Diego Zoo

I've noticed recently that the SD Zoo has abandoned some if not all of the freqs that RR has listed, that once were in use. The freqs that I have found that they are now using are not licensed (at least no information comes up when searching the FCC database) and these are still analog.

New freqs found:

451.8375 pl 114.8 security and shuttles
452.2625 pl 114.8
452.4500 pl 114.8

I'd submit them, but don't have the full lineup or their channel numbers yet.

I have been hearing the 451.8375 freq very active with Zoo traffic lately too and I'm all the way in Chula Vista south bay and can hear the zoo from my house. Also I will try and help you identify who uses what freq.

Thanks Mike. On that freq, I also hear PL 67.0, 151.4 and a Mototrbo user. I have ID'd 67.0 but not 151.4. I think its coming from either USD or Grossmont-Cuyamaca College but I haven't had a chance to close call anything. Can you hear those stations also from your location?

Hey Joey. I'm too far north to hear the Zoo unfortunately, but keep in mind the San Diego Wild Animal Park converted to a MotoTRBO Capacity Plus trunking system a while back. At the time, the submitter indicated that the main zoo was getting the same radios (presumably XPR6550s) and they were going to operate on analog for the time being but eventually converting to TRBO. I'm guessing Day Wireless is the company engineering the systems, because they've done a lot of TRBO around San Diego county over the last couple years.

Thank you for the frequencies for the zoo. I have the RR ones programmed into my pro-106 for my next trip there in a couple of months. Hopefully they won't switch to motoTRBO before then. Darn, I wish there was a scanner that could receive those radios. My local zoo switched a few years ago

we need to get scanner manufacturers to make scanners that can monitor Mototrbo as well.
