Anyone know where the State Parks guys (Borrego, Ocotillo) have gone?
Have someone in the desert looking for them, the listed rebanded freqs aren't working..

Have you tried the old 800 Mhz frequencies that they used prior to rebanding also the new 700 Mhz?

It's not me trying to listen, but a friend. He says they disappeared off the old freqs, and aren't on the new rebanded freq in the database. Someone else says they're on the RCS, but didn't have any talkgroups.

I live in the desert..I hear them on conv. 800 MHz listed in R. R. D.B. . They are still there...it’s roasting out there this time of the year. So nights are busier...and of course any time of the year other than summer.

Bud, use the rebanded channel for the Pink in the DB. All sites except Boucher had been retuned in the desert.

Toro peak is active on the new re-banded ch.I was camping at Culp last night and listened to the park system out there. I have noticed that all the re-banded stuff for the rangers are the same freq and tone. Are they using a voter system? Or do the repeaters have a separate input tone? All the out-puts are the same 115. I heard the rangers saying Cercom 24boy24 on Black, Toro ect. Is there a reason why they call out the mt site they are on? If so does the data base need to be up dated with the tones? Just asking.

It’s surcom ( southern communication) yes the output is on the same 115 . 24 boy 24 always I.d. If They are by the nearest tower...which is toro peak on highway 74. If the rangers are near each other more than likely they will be using the same tower. However if your a ranger in piccacho ..you would use the tower down there by the border. Not sure if it’s a vote steer. Chp low band is however..

I been listening to the new band freq. all day today. The old freq. is gone. We need more people to confirm the large area coverage .. the rangers might be on the old freq. down in piccacho...but I dought it.

Sorry you are right SURCOM. Question is are the input the same for all their repeaters or are they different? I do not see it listed in the data base like it is on some of the VHF and UHF stuff. Might be a question for the state radio techs.

I use the inputs to see how close the mobile transmitter is. Kinda like the Bear Tracker. Now that I read the other posts... I do not monitor the input pl tone but I do monitor the input frequency. Thanks edit.

If your monitoring the input freq a simple tone reader would do the job or maybe a scanner set up would. Just wondering why some are listed and others not, case in point.

Than at the top of the freq. data base ...under state parks of course, check the box to show input freq. than on your scanner search p.l. .

Simple why show one and not the others.Think about this, If say Toro and Black Mt had the same input tones, and both can be brought up on the same tone If transmitting to Toro, would that not create a mess with the repeaters? You can be at OW and be in range of both machines. Would that cause a heterodyne effect on the TX side of the repeaters?

Be running to the desert to much from the coast, then of course you would have to be lucky and close enough to receive the TX from the ranger's mobile or handheld.

<snip list of Federal and Local VHF frequencies having nothing to do with State Parks>

Frequencies at VHF (both Low Band and High Band) are not paired. Hence, the input field is listed.

Frequencies at UHF (450 - 512, 700 and 800) are paired with a standard offset (+5 MHz for 450-470, + 3 MHz for 470-512, +30 MHz for 700 MHz, and -45 MHz for 800 MHz). Therefore, there is no need to list the input frequency, as it is easily discernible.

The ones you listed without an input are not repeaters. That's why they are not listed.
