Cool new Rohnert Park CASINO

just opened and already full of gambling zombies
the traffic was a mess...

I heard they have facial recognition of anybody entering as well as a bunch of other high dollar more or less typical advanced features...

so what's the deal with rf comms ?
freqs ?
anything in the clear ?
wireless devices other than audio ?

rf equipment in use ?

I can't say anything about casino internal operations but Rohnert Park Dept. of Public Safety (police-fire) were coordinating with California Highway Patrol to handle traffic on the surrounding streets. CHP were operating from a mobile command post located at RPDPS and both were to operate on Rohnert Park Channel 2 once CHP got their dual band radios programmed...which for the most part, they DIDN'T on Opening Day.

CHP had sole responsibility for the jammed-up traffic on US 101 through the area.

By Wednesday, things had gotten much quieter...almost down to "normal" pre-casino traffic. It was as though all the zombies had come on Opening Day, Tuesday, and Wednesday-Thursday were "just another day." It figured...by the time CHP got their dual-band radio capability set up, their help wasn't needed. But heavier traffic is expected over the long Veterans' Day weekend, though.

If anyone can give me a clue how to set this up in my 396xt, I can get close enough to capture some Data without a Computer and listen in who is using what. As i can pick up motor-boating in Santa Rosa but nothing in Healsburg.

Two way radios, scanners are not allowed in the Casino. I think your spectrum analyzer would be a no no, with slot machines , they may arrest you.

Cell phones are OK to use.

someone crashed into a power pole yesterday took out the transformer
Casino went dark for over an hour LOL
one would think they'd have a back up ??
maybe they assumed since CHP is on the same circuit nothing would ever go wrong ?

so much for state of the art ...

It's up to us. we need to actually Listen to the System either with Software or with our Scanners.
We need to find out if Motorola, Edcas and so on.
It's beyond my capability for the initial Stage, but once I / we know what System it is and if we can monitor it. Hopefully from that point on we can piece it together.

The emission designators for those 900 MHz frequencies in the license include 7K60FXE. This is the tell-tale sign of a Motorola TRBO digital system. No scanners currently exist which can decode Mototrbo, however it can be done with a computer, discriminator tapped scanner and software called DSD and DMRDecode. The process is not easy but if you're interested in getting it set up please see the "Digital Signals Decoding Software" sub-forum.

I would venture a guess based on prior experience that they are probably running a single site Mototrbo Capacity Plus trunking system. Given the nature of the casino business and the ease of setup on these systems, they also may very likely be running encryption.

Thanks for the information on this type of transmission, which I'm not familiar with . I will check out the Digital
Signals Decoding Software sub-forum for more education on this subject.

Thanks Again

for any law enforcement traffic, the Rohnert Park PS is currently using channel 2 for the casino related stuff.
