Default TACSAT-4 relay comms

TACSAT-4 is making it's way across the west coast right now - there have been numerous reports of the satellite relaying ATC comms from someone in the US.

Track here:

LIVE REAL TIME SATELLITE TRACKING AND PREDICTIONS: TACSAT 4

Listen on frequency 253.000 MHz

I don't know what the input frequency is yet. I'm also getting faint AM comms now of the relayed ATC.

More details on TACSAT-4 can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TacSat-4

Default tell me more

Please tell me more about this sat. Who's is it? What are you using for a receiver and antenna?

The satellite has four known transponders - downlink frequencies are 249.6, 252.950, 253.000 and 254.125 MHz, 60 kHz wide. The most active seem to be 253 and 254.125. Narrow-band encrypted comms have been heard from time to time.
