Hi Guys,
I just built the antenna detailed here... UHF-Satcom.com - Omnidirectional L-Band antenna
Some years ago, I regularly successfully received Inmarsat with a 1m dish and a can probe antenna feed. Now though, I live in an apartment and don't have the luxury of the space for such a dish. So I built the omni antenna detailed here....
UHF-Satcom.com - Omnidirectional L-Band antenna
However, I can't receive a thing on it despite using two different L-band LNAs ? Can anybody confirm if it's actually possible to receive Inmarsat with this type of antenna with an 'amateur/hobbyist' Low Noise Amplifier ? Obviously, the 'real' ones are built for this but perhaps they use 'professional' grade LNAs etc. ??
Any thoughts ?
Terry
