Not familiar with these scanenrs myself. But is ther by chance a specific error code you are getting?

Also try the normal font.

And welcome. You are definatly in the right place to get the help you need.

Richard,
You'll need a DB-9 NULL MODEM Adapter and a DB-9 Gender Changer between both radios regular programming cable. I usually just download a copy of the program to my computer, and up load to the next scanner. A lot easier on the equipment requirements.

Hi

Download the Backup utility and then use the instructions on how to download and upload to the computer & scanner

245XLT Backup

Directions to DOWNLOAD from the scanner to the computer…

1. Make sure your scanner is in computer control mode (flashing key symbol).
2. Turn scanner off.
3. Start computer program (don’t have scanner turned on at this point!)
4. Change port to Comm 2 (at least for my computer)
5. Click on Get Data
6. Hold down “e” on the scanner keypad while turning on scanner
7. Press the 3 key
8. Press the “e” key again to get the flashing “first”
9. Click on the “OK” button in the popup box to start the download.
10. You must do the previous five steps in a fairly rapid order or you get an “error” from timing out.
11. Watch the scanner display. You will know it is finished when it says “done” (or something like that).
12. You must now save the file – click the “save” button in the computer program.
13. When the “Save As” box comes up, type a name that is descriptive (date, agencies, etc.) AND THEN MANUALLY ADD THE FILE EXTENSION “.sbu” TO THE END OF THE FILENAME!! Unlike most programs, this program will not add this extension for you.
14. Click “Save.”
15. Turn scanner off.
16. Turn scanner on.
17. You will probably need to press the “trnk” key to get into trunking mode again and then you are ready to go.
18. Close computer program.

7. Click on “Send Data”
8. Press the “e” button on the scanner and hold while turning scanner on.
9. Press the “3” key once (this is supposed to be optional but I have to do it for some reason on my scanner).
10. Press the “hold” key 1 time until “clone” appears on the screen.
11. Press the “e” button 1 time and clone should start to flash.
12. Click the “OK” button on the computer screen.
