Default help on 245xlt computer controlled software

Can any one tell me with scanner software for the 245xlt and what kind of cable do i need for this ? also is a free ver of the software thanks for anyinfo on this .

If you have a pc with a serial port, then you just need the cable that came with it. Otherwise, you need both a serial and a USB adaptor from Uniden http://tinyurl.com/2cqyu4 or Radio Shack: http://tinyurl.com/2gpbsp . Another source is http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2, for quite a bit less. It is reported to work with other Uniden scanners. I think it should work.

That adapter will do nothing for a 245 owner.

From all that I've seen talked about here, I'd say a Belkin product would be the way to go. And as for software, probably the best would be Scan Control in the commercial world. The BC245Int/Senss software is pretty good, if very clumsy. However the Senss software is no longer supported AFAIK. If you read my review, you will understand why I say it's a clumsy product. 73 Mike
