Default Remote Control for R/S Scanners

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a radio shack/GRE scanner that I can use remote control with? I only need to be able to manual, stop, check channels, etc. So far, it seems the PRO 163 is not able to be used for remote control. How about the PRO 2096? I have looked around and have not found anything. Any help would be good,

THANKS,

Kevin G

I use the remote control, remote monitoring, and logging features of Win500 with both my Radio Shack Pro -197 anf GRE PSR500. The Radio Shack Pro-106 and the GRE PSR600 can be controlled. Additionally, Win500 allows the remote control and monitoring via the internet. Don Starr used to have a demo of the remote monitoring available from his site. He didn't allow remote control though.

The Pro-106 and the Pro-197 allow remote control using the win500 software.

Haven't used that PSREdit since a trial version in the real early days (didn't have remote control then!) - is the 'remote control' you mention only from a cable-connected computer or is it like Win500's over-the-internet plus the cable-connected modes?

Currently PSREdit-500 allows control over the USB cable. I'm not sure if Mike plans on adding net capability. It would be nice.
