ID Tracker II - Version 2.1.0 Released
- Added "Audio File Rollover" option.
- Added option to disable "Maximum Record Time" setting by entering a value of zero (0).
- Corrected "subscript out of range" error when Playback dialog is displayed before tracking has been started.
- Added checks to prevent conflicts between audio playback and recording when one or the other is active. Conflicts could result in corrupt audio files or indexes.
- Improved Radio ID labeling.

I just recently started using ID Tracker with my 396T. What a neat program! The ability to record specific frequencies/talkgroups is pretty slick. Thanks! Really appreciate the software support and improvements too.

Thanks for the updates!
Have one question though. When I pause on an ID that I am recording, the recording is done in small little 1 sec to 1.5 sec groups (missing the rest of the conversation). When I'm just scanning, the whole conversation is recorded. Would anyone know why this is occurring?

I would like to ask everyone what they think if this is a good option.
Here in Barry County all traffic is on the State of Michigan’s P25 system except for fire traffic which is still on conventional frequencies.
So current in IDtrackerII, it cannot record all traffic to one file on multiple systems. So if you have a P 25 and an EDAC system it will record it to two different files.
Here in Barry County is not much traffic so I like to listen to the Counties traffic and the fire traffic in order but right now I would have to listen to the counties traffic and then go back in a different file to listen to the fire traffic. Which I am listing out of order on my MP3 player.
1) What are you feelings on this?
2) Would it be a benefit to be able to record multiple TSYS or systems to one file instead of different files for each system?

Is this a trunk system(which one P25, MOT, EDAC...) or conventional frequencies?
Which scanner do you use?
I can try to see if I get the same thing tonight when I get home.

I just tested it using my PSR-500 and did not see the problem. If you can email me an image of the main Settings screen and the system edit screen I will take a look at the problem.
Email me (my callsign)@bellsouth.net.

It should work on Vista. The spouse's new laptop runs Vista so I can try to troubleshoot any problems you might have. I will update the web site.

No. I don't believe that the PRO-2096 allows computer control. Programming only.

And, more importantly for this type of application, no computer "monitoring" (i.e. the scanner will never send any status information over the serial port).

If you just want to record audio you could use scanner recorder. But yes the 2096 does not have a function to be cottrolled by software so Don(starsoft) or Dave's(idtracker) software will not work.

Any word if any of the more recent ID Tracker II features can be applied to the original ID Tracker? Or support for older radios with ID Tracker II? I know the Dynamic Memory vs Banks/Channels is one of the major differences between the scanners that each program supports. I'd just find it handy to have some of the better audio file management, rollover functions, etc but with the older scanner that I have using ID Tracker. I guess if the answer is no, I'll probably get a newer scanner eventually. ID Tracker II has been awesome with my BCD996T, so I'll probably end up getting a BCT15 or something for my second ID Tracker to replace the old Radio Shack Pro-2052.

Jeffery,
I was actually thinking about it last night. I still have my BC780XLT but for the most part I use it at work where I don't use the software. If anything, the audio enhancements would be the easiest to handle but I really need to look at code differences. I have not worked with the ID Tracker code for some time now.
I won't promise anything, but I will keep this in mind.
