Pro-106 programming help with win500

I just received a pro-106, and I made a file in win500 to use on the scanner. When I try to upload it to the scanner, a message comes back saying that there was no response from the scanner. Any suggestions? I have tried all different com ports, and the scanner is on when i try it. i don't know what is wrong. I am using the radio shack programming cable to program it. Thanks for the suggestions!

if you are using the small additional adapter cable take it off and use cable by itself. if you are using just the cable without the adapter put the adapter on. this a common problem.
