Default Search Logging and PCRPro

Hi,

Sorry if this has been addressed, but my searches haven't been very helpful on this topic.

What I would like to do is have an application that can be left searching a frequency range and log the results, including a wav (or other audio file) sample of the activity, time/date and frequency.

I have seen some of the products that do something similar with the Uniden scanners, but I would like to do this using one of the ICOM PCR receivers, due to the available modulation types, frequency range, and P25.

Unfortunately, I am using this capability as one of the criterion for purchasing of the radio, so I can't actually just try it. However, I have installed PCRPro and it looks great, but I can't figure out what the logging is like.

Anyone out there with some experience with this could point me in the right direction for a SW/Radio combination, if the PCRPro/Icom isn't going to fit the bill?

Thanks in advance.
Victor

PCR Pro doesn't have the option yet to save a wav file of active freqs found during a search, this is in the ToDO list though

It does have the ability to save a result of found freqencies dur a search...

Jay,

Thanks so much for your reply. I suppose I could use some form of VOX software to do the recording, but mapping the recording to the time/freqency stamp could be a bit of a pain. Then again, this is a part of the hobby.

In any case, thanks so much for all your hard work on your software. It is a really fantastic piece of work, and shows some really great insight into how to make best use of the PCR radios.

Cheers, and Happy Holidays,
Victor
